Quick Tip on Magento Partial Refund

Tip · August 27, 2017

There can be a case in a Magento store where you have to refund partial amount to a customer. Here’s a quick tip on Magento partial refund issue.

For example, a customer orders the following set of products on your store:

iPhone – $100 x 1

MacBook Pro – $599 x 1

Subtotal- $699

Shipping- $40

Grand Total- $739

Now, if you want to refund $20 to the customer, the credit memo allows you to increase/decrease the quantity of products to adjust the credit memo’s grand total. But in reality, you don’t want to refund the product. You just want to refund the $20.

Follow 3 simple steps for quick Magento Partial Refund:

  1.      Set the quantity of all the items in the credit memo to 0
  2.      Set shipping in credit memo to 0
  3.      Enter “20” in total “Adjustment Refund” and click the “Refund button”

And you’re done!
